Our Story
Bodega Buena Vista was founded in 1947 in Carmelo, Uruguay, on the basis of an old table wine winery that the Bonomi family acquired and refurbished to produce fine wines. Located next to the Casa Chic hotel, the project stands out for preserving the original structure of the winery while incorporating modern winemaking technology. Thanks to the vision of Uruguayan winemaker Caterina Viñas and the support of Argentine capital, Buena Vista focused on producing signature wines and high-end varietals such as Tannat Roble, Syrah, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir, which highlight the character of the local terroir.
Over the years, the winery has played a leading role in Uruguay’s winemaking history, with its evolution marked by a balance between tradition and modernity. In addition to wine production, Buena Vista is part of a wine tourism project that integrates hospitality and gastronomy with experiences that include tastings and guided tours through its vineyards and historic facilities. The natural and architectural setting of the winery, together with its commitment to artisanal and sustainable techniques, has allowed Buena Vista to maintain a family-oriented and welcoming profile, becoming a regional reference in Carmelo and a synonym for elegant and genuine wines.
